505 Highland Ave, Morton Borough

On December 25th 2007 at 00:44 hrs. the Rutledge fire company was dispatched to assist the Morton fire company for a bldg. fire with entrapment at 505 Highland Ave.. Morton fire Capt. dean kemp was first on scene and reported heavy fire on side A of the dwelling. He immediately requested a second alarm and he assumed Highland Ave. command. Engine 13-1 responded with a crew of six with Chief Mike MacCrone on board. Engine 13-2 responded shortly after with a crew of four. Upon arrival 13-1 crew helped establish water supply to engine 11-1 which was the first engine on location. A 2 1/2" preconnect was then pulled to knock down the bulk of fire. At this time it was reported all occupants were out of the dwelling. 13-1 crew then proceeded to pull a 2" preconnect from engine 11-1 and advance it in the back door to combat the dwelling fire where Chief MacCrone assumed interior command. A second supply line was laid but not used by the operators of engine 13-1 and 13-2. The fire was declared under control in about an hours time with extensive overhaul to be completed. Rutledge fire company returned to quarters at 03:29 hrs.  Fire damage reported to be heavy.
